Transient Analysis

I have a simple circuit I am trying to run. The circuit consists of a battery, a resistor, and a capacitor in series. I want to see the capacitor charge, but when I run transient analysis, the capacitor is charged as soon as the simulation begins. Why?

The reason this occurs is because the Operating Point is enabled in the Transient Analysis Limits dialog box. The Operating Point finds an initial DC starting point for the circuit by opening up the capacitors and shorting the inductors. In your example, the voltage across the capacitor will be equal to the battery voltage, so no charging will occur. Disable the Operating Point, and all voltages and currents will start at 0 if the State Variables option, in the Transient Analysis Limits, has been set to zero. The charging of the capacitor will now be plotted.
