I have made my own subdirectory to create and store my circuits in, but whenever I try to go into analysis, I get an error that there is no such file or directory as "NOM.LIB" or some other library. How do I get Micro-Cap to find the libraries?

The problem is that Micro-Cap is looking only in the current directory for the libraries, and if the libraries aren't in this directory, then it will not be able to find them. The way to fix this is to use the environmental variable, MC6DATA.

For Windows 95 and Windows 98:
Add this line inside your Autoexec.bat file:

Set MC6DATA=C:\MC6\DATA

where C:\MC6\DATA is the directory the libraries are stored in. More than one directory may be specified for this variable, with the paths being separated by a semicolon.

For Windows NT 4.0:
Click on the Start menu. Go to Settings. Click on Control Panel. Double click on the System icon. When the System dialog box appears, click on the Environment tab. At the bottom of the Environment section, there is a list of User Variables. The MC6DATA variable needs to be added to this list. Below the list are two text fields called Variable and Value. In the Variable field, type in:

MC6DATA

In the Value field, the path to the DATA directory needs to be specified such as:

C:\MC6\DATA

Again, multiple paths may be specified by using the semicolon delimiter. Click on the Set command button. Once this is done, the MC6DATA variable and value should appear in the User Variables list. Click OK. If MC6 was loaded during the procedure, it needs to be restarted. Otherwise, loading MC6 should enable the variable.

In MC6, it is possible to see what value the MC6DATA variable has been set to. In the schematic area, hit Alt+Z and a Statistics window will appear. One of the lines in this window will specify the MC6DATA value. If this line does not appear, the variable has not been set.

A library that is not listed in the Nom.lib file must be referenced with a .lib statement placed in either the schematic or the text area.
