I am having problems when I try to install Micro-Cap. When I click on the Setup.exe file to launch the installation, nothing happens. I have tried rebooting the system, but that has not helped. I have downloaded the program again and have attempted running the Setup.exe file with no programs loaded, but have had no success on getting it installed. What is preventing the Setup.exe file from running?

We have found two specific instances where the Setup.exe file has been prevented from running.

1) The TeaTimer protection from Spybot can stop the Setup program from running. Temporarily disable this program to install Micro-Cap. This may be the case with other anti-virus programs also.

2) Invoke the Windows Task Manager, and click on the Processes tab. Look for the following process:

ASGHOST.EXE

Select this process and then click the End Process button to terminate it. Try running Micro-Cap to see if the problem is still present.

We have yet to determine the validity of the ASGHOST.EXE file. There is a legitimate program that does use this file, but many websites also state that this can be malware camouflaged as ASGHOST.EXE.

The Setup program failing to run is a software conflict with the specific system. One workaround is to reboot in Safe Mode and then run the install program as this should eliminate nearly all software conflicts.
