News:

Effective 7/4/2019, Spectrum Software is closed. Micro-Cap is now free.

Technical support will be available for at least 90 days via email at Support.

You can download the latest versions of Micro-Cap here: Download
You can choose either the executable program or the entire installation CD for MC10, MC11, and MC12. If you have an earlier version, download and use MC12. These new versions do not require the security key, so they make Micro-Cap free to the entire engineering community.

Thank you for the honor and privilege of serving you for the last 39 years.

AC Analysis

I have a sine source in my schematic. I edit the A parameter in its model statement, but it has no effect on my AC analysis. It always runs at 1V.

The sine source, pulse source, and user source all default to AC small signal sources of magnitude 1. The model statements only have an effect in transient analysis and in the operating point calculation for AC analysis. The small signal sources that may vary are the 'V' and 'I' sources in the Waveform Sources section of the Analog Primitives. The AC source is defined for these two components in its VALUE attribute as in the following statement:

AC 2

This would force the 'V' component to be a 2V small signal source and the 'I' component to be a 2A small signal source.
